Strolling Rome’s Heart Tour: An Introduction to the Eternal City

First time in Rome? Start here. This three hour tour mixes ancient history with modern life, as you visit the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and many hidden sites in between.  Let your expert guide transport you to the splendours of the past, while stopping to sample coffee and gelato.

Designed to be your first experience of the Eternal City, this tour will take you on a leisurely stroll through the monument-studded heart of Rome.  As you explore the city’s historic streets and piazzas, your expert guide will take you on a political, historical and artistic journey, giving you not only the history of these sights but also the anecdotes, traditions, and local legends that make them so enduringly fascinating.

Beginning with coffee in Rome’s oldest coffee shop founded in 1760, this tour will take you through the city’s winding streets to key locations such as the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps, pausing for a gelato along the way.  During this tour we will also show you some hidden-away masterpieces by Caravaggio and Raphael.

By the end of this tour, you will have an orientation on the history of Rome which will allow you to get the most out of the rest of your tours/site visits.

Major sites include: the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, San Luigi dei Francesi,  Piazza Navona, Pantheon*

*Please note that churches included in our tour are operational churches. There are occasions in which churches close unexpectedly without prior notice. Luxe Associates will seek to provide an alternative in-situ art experience on these occasions.

*The Pantheon is closed Sunday afternoons so will be viewed and explained from the outside only.
