Typically we begin our private tour experience at The Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze, or “Gallery of the Academy of Florence”, most famous for hosting a collection of Michelangelo’s work including Prisoners, which was originally intended for the tomb of Pope Julius II, and an unfinished statue of Saint Matthew, and of course most famous of all for being home to the world’s most celebrated statue, Michelangelo’s David.

Originally located outside the Palazzo Vecchio, the original Statue of David was moved to the Accademia Gallery in 1873 and will undoubtedly leave you in awe as you gaze upon the 5.17-meter marble statue that represents the biblical hero David.
