7 Day Ireland Vacation Itinerary

You may wish to alter a particular aspect of the tour below or ask us to provide a completely new custom itinerary for your vacation, including accommodation and the services of a driver-guide. We will happily provide a complimentary custom itinerary for you, all you need to do is send us an online inquiry.

Day 1 and 2: Dublin Tour

The Trinity College, Dublin

This week-long Irish tour starts in the capital of the south and largest city in all of Ireland: Dublin. Your driver guide will collect your group at the airport and welcome you to the country before escorting you to your accommodation in the heart of the city.

With a rich mix of history, tradition, culture, and unique experiences, we promise you will not be stuck for ways to spend the first two days of this tour with your private driver-guide.

Some of our recommended highlights include:

  • O’Connell Street and the General Post Office: Where the Proclamation was read on Easter Sunday, 1916, for the first time ever.
  • A Guided Tour of The Trinity College: The oldest university in Ireland and the host of the hallowed ‘Book of Kells’ which dates back to 384AD!
  • The Doors of Dublin: You’ll never see two identical doors in Dublin, wander through the city with your guide to admire their unique and colorful charm which gives the city an unmistakable charm.
  • Visit the Guinness Storehouse: Pour your own pint of the black stuff and find out how it’s made at the source!
  • Whitefriar Street Church: Visit the final resting place of the Patron Saint of Lovers; St Valentine.
  • Irish Whisky Museum Tour: Taste the true spirit of the Island and learn a complete and unbiased history of Irish whiskey from experts!
  • Irish Emigration Museum: Take part in this incredible interactive journey to learn about how this small island and its people have made such an impact across the world.
  • Temple Bar District: See firsthand why the Irish are so famous for their drinking culture by exploring the wonderful selection of traditional bars.

Our guides will design your custom itinerary to include as many of the experiences your group would like to see as possible – thankfully our small private tours allow you to fit in much more activities per day than a traditional group bus tour.

As always, your guide will also be available to help recommend the best places to eat and drink while you are staying in Dublin according to your group’s preferences.

We just returned from a trip that was organized through Travel by Luxe. It was one of the best trips we ever took and it was organized brilliantly. A special thank you to Francesca, she not only helped plan the itinerary, but was available throughout the trip to assist and make any tweaks and adjustments. Overall, a great experience and highly recommend.

Day 3: Belfast Tour - Titanic Quarter - Political Mural Tour - Belfast Castle

The Titanic Museum, Belfast

On the morning of Day Three, we trade one capital city for another as we travel from Dublin to the capital of the north: Belfast

When we arrive in Belfast, we’ll start our tour of the city in the Titanic Quarter where you’ll get the chance to explore the world-class interactive museum on the site where the infamous ship was constructed back in 1911.

Following your guided tour of the museum, we’ll enjoy some lunch at the nearby Titanic Hotel before heading to the Gaeltacht Quarter where you will hear the locals conversing in traditional Gaelic.

Next up, your driver-guide will take you on an incredible political mural tour where you’ll learn more about the complicated history of the troubles through a series of famous murals throughout the city before arriving at the Peacewall – where you can even write your own message – before finishing the day with a tour of Belfast Castle

We’ll go for a wander around the castle and surrounding grounds – the perfect place to admire the sun setting beautifully over the city – before we retire for the evening at your accommodation in Belfast city center.

Day 4: St George’s Market - Causeway Coastal Route - Carnlough - Glens of Antrim - Ballycastle - Carrick-a-Rede - Giant’s Causeway - Dunluce Castle - Derry

tour guests standing on the rock formations at the giant's causeway in Ireland.
Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland

We leave Belfast after breakfast at St George’s Market – the last surviving Victorian covered market in Belfast – tasting a wide variety of traditional Celtic foods before setting off to the gorgeous Causeway Coastal Route passing the 12th-century Carrickfergus Castle en route to the northern tip of the island.

We’ll take a short stop at the picturesque village of Carnlough and go for a stroll by its quaint harbor before continuing on the coast before reaching the Glens of Antrim where legends say the island’s famous fairies and leprechauns reside.

In the early afternoon, we’ll stop for lunch in the stunning coastal town of Ballycastle before we explore (and even cross if your feeling daring enough) the awe-inspiring Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge – a bridge that links the tiny island of Carrickarede to the mainland, spanning 20 meters 30 meters above the rocks below.

We’ll spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring two include sites: Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle

We start with Giant’s Causeway – Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your private guide will tell you all about the legend of Giant Finn MacCool as you explore the uniquely shaped stones.

Next up, we’ll take a short drive to explore the nearby medieval ruins of Dunluce Castle – which sits dramatically perched on the edge of the northern coast – before we finish our long day touring with a transfer to your accommodation in the famous walled city of Derry

Amazing Travel Agency! Marta helped us plan our whole trip and it was absolutely amazing! We did private walking tours, private winery tours, and everything was great! Marta made the itinerary with our interests in mind and was extremely helpful! The tour guides (Viola and Jessica to name two of the many) were outstanding! Marta also helped plan the perfect engagement! We highly recommend this company and will be using them again!

Day 5: Derry - Donegal - Sligo - Galway

Donegal coastline with a castle in the distance.
County Donegal, Ireland

We’ll spend part of the morning exploring the city of Derry itself – as you will have arrived in the evening with your guide the night before. We’ll start off with a short tour of the city’s famous intact 17th-century walls and some of its 7 gates before finishing at the Tower Museum near the Peace Bridge to explore its fascinating artifacts and exhibitions as well as enjoy wonderful views over the city.

From Derry, we’ll return to your luxury vehicle and cross the border back into the south, headed for the 15th-century quaint town of Donegal. Your guide will take your group on a short wander around the town, perhaps enjoying a tour of the local castle or the ancient abbey ruins, before we continue our journey down the Wild Atlantic Way towards the rugged countryside of Sligo.

A famed literary powerhouse, Sligo is a town steeped in history, charm, and beauty in equal measure – containing a wonderful variety of experiences suited to any traveler

Enjoy a guided tour of the ruined medieval Sligo Abbey to explore its carved tombs and 15-century alter, or a visit to the Sligo County Museum which displays a range of memorabilia of local poet W.B. Yeats, paintings, and Stone Age artifacts, before we finish our tour for the day with a beautiful drive to the harbor city of Galway

Throughout the evening, we’d encourage your group to take advantage of the local bars and restaurants which fill the quaint streets with traditional music and dancing.

Day 6: Option 1: Aran Islands - Killarney

Aran Islands, Ireland

Today you’ll have a choice of two excellent day trips. The first option is spending the day exploring the Aran Islands – a beautiful group of three islands located at the mouth of Galway Bay.

Your group and guide will catch a morning ferry to the islands where you’ll visit a fascinating Bronze and Iron Age fort, Dun Aengus, as well as a 14th-century castle and the smallest church in the world!

Aside from attractions, the Aran Islands’ main draw is its incredible scenery and stunning walks.

Once you’ve explored the islands we’ll head back to Galway before continuing to Killarney where we retire for the evening.

Day 6: Option 2: Galway City Tour - Cliffs of Moher - Village of Doolin - Killarney

The cliffs of Moher, Irelands most popular tourist destination.
Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

The second option starts the day with a tour of Galway’s City Center. The heart of the city is the 18-century Eyre Square – a popular meeting point for locals and visitors alike to wander the boutiques and traditional pubs.

We’ll continue our tour to the Latin Quarter of the city which still retains parts of its medieval city walls before leaving the city to visit perhaps the island’s most popular destination: Cliffs of Moher

Soaring over 200 meters high and spanning a massive 8 kilometers along the famed Wild Atlantic Coast, neither words nor photographs can fully capture the power and beauty of the cliffs. You’ll spend the afternoon exploring this wonder with your private guide who will let you know all about the folklore and myths the cliffs have collected over the years.

Once you’re finished exploring the cliffs, we’ll head to the coastal village of Doolin where you’ll enjoy a traditional Irish meal and explore the nearby area with your guide.

Finally, we’ll finish up the day with a drive to your accommodation in Killarney.

Hands down the best travel company! Every detail was taken care of! All questions were answered. Every guide was knowledgeable, flexible, and kind! In a situation when travel can be stressful, every individual was fantastic. I can not stress enough how much they added to our trip. I would be happy to answer any questions someone would have about my experience with this company. Will use their services in the future for sure.

Day 7: Dingle Bay - Sheepdog Demonstration - Ring of Kerry - Cork

Ring of Kerry, Ireland

And alas! All good thanks must, unfortunately, come to an end as we enter the final day of your Luxe Irish tour.

And what a day it is as we travel through the awe-inspiring scenery of the Coast of Kerry, traveling the road better known as the Ring of Kerry – a circular route that forms part of the Wild Atlantic Way.

We begin the final day with a scenic drive through the mountain pass of Molls Gap where we’ll take a short pause to take in the incredible views of Skellig Island – a key location in the Star Wars movies – before your driver-guide continues Dingle Bay

You’ll spend an hour or so exploring the bay, its bustling array of wildlife, and the harbor town of Dingle to the north before we continue our tour with a visit to Brendan Farris – an Irish border collie trainer who will give your group the opportunity to experience an incredible traditional sheepdog demonstration

Finally, your tour will come to a close as we travel to Cork in the early evening.
